Te Pā o Rākaihautū is an innovative 21st century learning village (pā wānanga) devoted to educational success for the whole whānau. It aims to remove the artificial walls between early childhood, primary, secondary and tertiary; deeply embedding values, stories and places; and provide a truly seamless lifelong learning experience. Te Pā o Rākaihautū will share its journey and lessons learnt in transforming outcomes for Māori tamariki and breathing life into the saying: "It takes a village to raise a child."
This gathering is a chance for you to hear Te Pā’s story and engage in conversations about culturally immersed sustainable teaching and learning, Māori learning and succeeding as Māori. What does it mean for the individuals, whānau, community, the greater Christchurch area and our society? How can this learning help all schools, organisations and businesses to be culturally responsive?
