Year 7 and 8 Technology Hui

How will we engage our tamariki in an ever changing world, through Technology?

We would like to invite you to our first face to face whole day hui for the 2020 Year 7 and 8 Technology incubator.

The aim of the day is to harness the power of change within Technology education to ensure that our tamariki are equipped for their future not our past.

The day is broadly structured starting with the whole group together and then tailored workshop sessions for leads and teachers separately, where resources will be developed from template examples to then be considered back at your school.

With a focus on our goal of sustainable future pedagogies, we will consider the implications of the new National Priorities:

  • Cultural capabilities
  • Local curriculum design
  • Assessment for learning
  • Digital Fluency

And how these are visible in:

  • Effective teacher practice
  • Teacher collaboration

Key Outcomes for the day:

  • How Technology education effectively supports the National Priorities
  • A resource pack to support teacher understandings of “Different perspectives of delivery”

o   ‘Knowing the learner’ accelerate your ability to really know your students with these fun activities

o   Example Technology learning programme in your specialist area that can guide your current development and planning

o   Teacher PLD slides with notes and support for how to run your own successful staff hui with your team back at school
