Following the community-led, inaugural Tama’ita’i Toa in 2021, this 2023 event is a proverbial rolling out of the ‘fala’ invitation to female teachers in Ōtautahi of Pacific descent, to come together as a sisterhood / a community of practitioners, to Talanoa in a safe and authentic space.
Come join the movement! The Tama’ita’i Toa goals are:
- Connection: an opportunity to meet fellow Tama’ita’i Toa in Ōtautahi.
- A safe space to Talanoa: sharing navigation stories of straddling multiple worldviews, challenges and opportunities in the Education system.
- Stimulating learning: a Vā space for authentic communication, mentoring, self-reflection and peer-coaching.
- Centering Indigenous Pacific Knowledges: a forum that centres, shares and recognises the Pacific ethnic diversity and epistemological paradigms / inherent cultural knowledge and belief systems.
