Seed the Change | He Kākano Hāpai, Mahia Te Aroha and Grow Waitaha are excited to share a free event on July 2 from 9.00-12.30pm.
This event has been designed by rangatahi from Hillmorton High School and St Andrews College to Action the Compassion across Waitaha.
The theme of this first hui is Tūrangawaewae, Belonging.
- What does this mean to us as young people?
- How might we create a place where all people can truly feel a sense of belonging through exploration of culture and identity?
These korero are too important to leave to chance, and we are excited to invite you and your students to join us.
Elements of this event include:
- Youth led workshops
- Keynote from Kate Dewes, New Zealand peace activist, anti-nuclear campaigner, and academic
- Panel discussions with questions from the floor
- Time to connect with young people from across the region as they engage in gritty conversations to action the compassion.
This is the first of two student events this year:
- Term 2 - 2 July - Belonging, 9.00-12.30pm
- Term 3 - 23 August - Peace and Compassion, 9.00-3.00pm
This event is an opportunity for your students to connect with others from across Waitaha and for teachers to connect and discuss their role in supporting young people as activators of positive change.
